Land Customs dagger for sale, typically manufactured by Hörster, Solingen. The dagger with green leather wrapped grip with silvered wire binding. Silvered pommel top bearing oakleaves, and silvered lower mount with eagle/swastika. Unmarked blade. The scabbard in green leather wrapping, and with silvered mounts. The dagger retaining a portepee. The dagger completed with a set of Land Custom hanging straps, with green & silver brocades on green velvet backings.
Condition report: The grip leather free from major damage, and with tight wire binding in place. The grip leather (as with the scabbard leather) has gone from the original green to a mid to dark colour. A change of colour often seen on Land Customs daggers and probably caused by excessive cleaning.  The nickeled fittings in generally unclean with the original patina and good condition, but some plate loss in areas with the base metal of aluminium showing through. Blade with a good bright polished steel finish (95% polished finish remaining). The scabbard with the leather wrapping free from tears or damage (but now mid to dark color matching the grip too). The mounts clean and bright. All screws in place and look to be unmolested. The portepee clean and in good condition too. The hangers with some use, oxidation and fraying in places.
Very nice condition considering age.
